PRACTICAL GUIDE
Protect margin when agent usage grows
A plan that works for a typical customer can lose money when a small number of customers run much more often. Model the whole distribution and make the usage boundary understandable.

Fixed-price exposure
Assume €0.30 per attempted action and €5 other monthly customer cost. A €49 fixed plan has the following modeled margins on those costs:
- 20 actions: €11 cost; 77.6% margin.
- 60 actions: €23 cost; 53.1% margin.
- 120 actions: €41 cost; 16.3% margin.
- 160 actions: €53 cost; a €4 loss, or −8.2% margin.
At 120 actions, a 60% target margin requires €41 ÷ (1 − 0.60) = €102.50 revenue under these assumptions. That is a cost calculation, not a recommended price.
Use a clear usage boundary
A hybrid example charges €19 including 20 actions, then €0.96 per additional action. At 160 actions, revenue is €19 + (160 − 20) × €0.96 = €153.40. With €53 modeled cost, margin is 65.4% on those costs.
State what counts as an action, how failures and retries are treated, when the allowance resets, whether overage needs an explicit setting, and what happens at a hard cap. A surprising bill can be a product problem even when its arithmetic is sound.
Charge per successful result carefully
If 90% of attempts succeed, an outcome-billed product may spend about €0.30 ÷ 0.90 = €0.333 per success before other costs, assuming every attempt has the same €0.30 cost. At a 60% target margin, the cost-based floor is about €0.333 ÷ 0.40 = €0.83 per successful result. Include failed attempts in that calculation even when customers are billed only for success.
Real workloads vary. Use paired run data where possible and keep cost per attempt separate from cost per successful result.
Build a review loop
Compare light, typical and heavy usage, then revisit the assumptions as real costs change. Track retries, failure rates, included actions and overage separately. Do not infer a representative customer from an average alone, and do not treat a simulator output as evidence of demand.

Request a one-time pricing review
For €49 once, request a manual report with recommended action prices, credit allowances, and a heavy-usage stress test. The free calculator stays free. Contact details are arranged separately; submitting the request does not charge you or create a contract.
